Lars Bruun is a visual artist and bassist based in Bispebjerg, Copenhagen. He has been painting for more than 30 years with a body of work exceeding 200 canvases. His practice spans from gestural abstraction to semi-figurative paintings, from large oil works to small watercolours on board.

The gallery in Bispebjerg is open by appointment and functions as both studio and exhibition space. Here you can see a painting take shape — and see the finished work hanging on the wall.

As a bassist with 50 years on the instrument, music is an integrated part of Lars Bruun's artistic universe. A planned video series will combine still images of the paintings with AI-voiced readings of the analyses — with Lars on bass in the background.

This site is part of an ongoing art project in which Lars Bruun places his practice in dialogue with artificial intelligence.
